Chairing around

I have been looking to redefine my relationship with AIESEC since my active involvement as a member was over and as I was telling you I was looking to find a way to give back to this organisation at least some of the things it gave to me.

So, I gladly said yes when I was invited to chair the AIESEC Iasi Local Planning Meeting last week, an invitation that came quite unexpected but in the end it turned out to be a really cool experience. Interacting more with the network is somehting I couldn't do as a President due to the lack of time but since I'm on vacation I took this opportunity and man, it was really something. Besides the chairing itself I also got the chance to meet again and catch up with Geo, VP Strategic in AIESEC Iasi, Malina from the MC and Mariana three old friends of mine.

From what I noticed, chairing is a great way to take out the best things that conferrences have to offer: quality interaction, fun and having an impact in the lifes of the delegates and their LC. It was one more (i guess unnecessary) proof that AIESEC brings out the best in me. For a few moments it made me really miss AIESEC XP, espacially it's spirit and enthusiasm, that magic energy that this kind of confferences give you.

And since I liked acting the cool alumnus :):) I decided to take it further so in a couple of weeks I'll be chairing a national conferrence as well.

Looking forward for that too,
Marius.

P.S. 1. If someone would have told me all these above two years ago I would have never believed it :):)
P.S. 2. I'll be posting some pictures too

A new set of beginnings

Well, the trip to Cluj has reached its objectives. From the 15th of August (1st september the latest) I'll be starting. My new job is mainly on sales with future training opportunities as well. Long story short it's gonna be the hell of a challenge I was looking for. That means I will also move to Cluj - Napoca and enter the (real) world of people who make their own existence apart from their parents involvement or presence. Yep - "adulthood" is here :)
Regarding AIESEC, I'm still looking to let go completely... sometimes I still scroll with a critical eye over EB/LC/Departments meetings outputs. Sometimes I miss being the President but I feel like It's time to change the way I contribue to the organisation that shaped me in such a great way. Some updates about how I'm gonna do that very soon.

It's been more than a month since my previous post and more than two months since the "graduation task force" aka "avalanche of exams" began. Thank God it's over and this is my fitrst post as an economist :) Usually I'm focused on the essence of things rather than the exterior and that's why I'm not really into big festivities, fancy robes and so on but it turned out quite nice in the end. The guys in AIESEC Tirgu Mures and some of my friends outdid themselves and made me feel like I was one of the Backstreet Boys. :):) in the graduation day.

Another turned out to be interesting event was a wedding I had to participate last weekend. I'm not a great fan of weddings but at this one I actually had a great time as I had the chance to meet again some relatifs from Cluj and Sibiu after a long while. Bellow there's a picture with me and my cousins from Cluj - they grow up so fast these days :):)

I'm also gonna take a short trip to Cluj next week for two or three days to visit some relatifs there and probably finalize my job-hunting campaign so I'm pretty excited about that too.

More posts coming soon,
Marius.
